It was a full moon on the night when KELLY GLENN and SANDRA KNOX met at Cinco de Mayo, 1990, in Tucson, AZ. The setting was a party in a mesquite grove put on by two sisters, each a friend to Kelly and Sandra. Kelly had recently relocated in Tucson from Pennsylvania and Sandra came from an old Tucson family. She was a spunky Western woman, he was adventurous and charismatic. On that fateful night a union began that would transform both of their lives and the lives of their children. A journey of love, adventure, healing, and transmutation into the LIGHT. Their meeting was filled with a magic that has endured 15 years. Sandra had always said she wanted to be on an adventure; well, her feet haven’t touched the ground yet.

Sandra and Kelly cultured relationships with local artists and Native American artists to create a unique environment of eclectic art that became an instant stopping place for locals, art enthusiasts and winter visitors looking for a touch of the “old Tucson” Southwest and Native American art.

Then came a serendipitous meeting with a sculptor who suggested they could create a series of simple sculptures to add to their inventory and had a process that would include water features. The first sculptures were modest designs, but soon the creative and energetic juices started to flow and ebb into unique and meaningful designs including storytellers, mystics and healing spirits.

Their Tucson commercial environments include P. F. Chang’s, Gadabout Salons, Limited Additions in St Phillips Plaza, Mt. Cove Estates, and an outdoor sculpture gardens at Plaza Palomino. Another outdoor garden graces the grounds of the Los Abrigados Resort in Sedona, where thousands of people can interact with their sculptures.

Other significant installations include a two year project designing and implementing the entire artscaping of the Hidden Falls Wellness Spa in Detroit, Mi., a commission by John Weiner, a prominent Canadian developer to design and install a series of sculptures for his summer home in St. Savuer, Montreal, as well as his commercial enterprise. Celebrities Marlo Thomas and Phil Donahue commissioned Sandra and Kelly to design a personal retreat area for their home in Westport, Conn.

The extraordinary portfolio evidences that art can transform everyday living spaces from transient, impersonal areas into graceful, holistic, and inviting spaces.

The Arizona Fine Art EXPO’s unique event showcases over 20 sculptures created by Sandra & Kelly with clay sculptures ranging in sizes from 3 foot to over 8 foot in height. Many of these sculptures are also spectacular water falls. As the ten weeks continue Sandra and Kelly will be creating additional sculptures that will warm the hearts of the patrons strolling through the EXPO Sculpture Garden.

Among the skills highlighted in the Sculpture Garden’s working cabanas will be clay sculpting, glass blowing and fusing, alabaster and stone carving, stone etching, patina finishing, metal welding and more.

"The working cabanas will provide a rare opportunity for patrons to view world-class artists in their own studio-like setting," said Judi Combs, president of Thunderbird Artists and CEO of the Arizona Fine Art EXPO. "Whether it’s watching the glowing sparks from the metals in action, a gather of glass majestically transformed into a fine sculpture, or the sculpting of raw stones into dramatic sculptures, there’s sure to be a demonstration for just about any artistic interest."
